My get up and go got up and went.

Ok, the reason I haven't posted in a week is because I have been SUPER blah. I have an upper respiratory infection, and the doc gave me some hardcore cough syrup that would make an alcoholic tipsy. I feel like I've been sleeping non-stop. When I do workout, I cough my insides out. It's annoying, but I've still been doing combat. Needless to say, I haven't started the Wild Card Workout Jar, but I promise I'm going to as soon as I'm up to it!

I also changed my weigh-in days to Tuesdays. There are younger people in that meeting, and I just feel like I can relate better. Plus, the leader is the lady who signed me up and she's hilarious. So, I went to the meeting Tuesday and gained 0.6. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but it really pissed me off. I guess I saw it coming... I mean, I haven't been nearly as strict. I haven't gone off the deep-end, but I haven't been by-the-book either. It's just been really hard for me to eat "filling foods" lately. I don't know why, but the thought of veggies make me feel just... ugh. I know I need to cut the crap and get over my excuses, but I'm stubborn. I just feel kinda stuck in a rut. And I REALLY need to drink more water.

But what I really need is inspiration, people! This is what you're here for, right? When I can't inspire you, I need you to inspire me. So... what have you been doing to stay on track? What do you think I should do to get me motivated again? I knew there would be ups and downs on this journey, but this "down" has me feeling jaded. I need you to light a fire under my ass.

  1. Hoot, you can do anything you set your mind to...I know .6 would make me mad, too...but just think about the total weight loss since you started! You are beautiful...and you will get fired up again...I'm still procrastinating...about my plan...:)

  2. I started something this week I never thought I'd be able to: snack on fruit! I like dried fruit a lot, but since it has the texture of candy, I end up eating the whole bag. Not so with whole fruit -- I only eat just the one piece. After I finish a meal, my taste buds don't want it to be over, so I inevitably get crackers, chocolate or chips I'm not actually hungry for. But I've started replacing those with whole fruit since one piece fills me up to the point where I don't want those crackers or chips. So hooray!

  3. Thanks, Mama D. You always know what to say :)

Paige, that's awesome! Just be careful cause dried fruit can sometimes contain a lot of sugar. Either way, fruit is fruit and it sure as hell beats candy or chips! :)

  4. I used to struggle with not drinking enough water, but I got a Camelbak water bottle, and now I drink water all the time! It's fun because it reminds me of drinking out of a sippy cup, which takes me back to childhood, which is always a good thing haha I have the 24 oz bottle, which I fill up several times each day. And you can get those flavor things if it's just too bland for you. I have to do something to mix it up every once in awhile. Good luck!

  5. Hmm, I'll definitely look into that! I think they sell those at the Sports Authority close to my apartment. It isn't that it's bland... I think that if it doesn't have carbonation, I'm not interested haha. I REALLY need to step it up, though. I'm sure I'll feel better AND lose more if I stay hydrated.

  6. I NEED ANOTHER POST! jk but believe it or not, your blog was one of the things that got me motivated to stop being a sloth and start losing some weight. I had to cut out sodas, and Kool-Aid, and most sweet tea, which killed me, until I bought a water bottle to take to work and a whole bunch of Propel packets. I drink a lot more water now. I lost 11lbs in 6 weeks... and I'm training for the marathon in March!
